Let's cut to the chase:

Lawyer well-being isn't simply "nice to have" and "feel good."

"Soft skills" aren't expendable, optional, or superficial.

Well-being and professional skills are essential and mission-critical.

The future of the legal profession depends on it. Who's coming with me?

and Transformation for the Entire Legal Profession

This is what’s possible for you and your firm, once you’ve learned to EsquireWell. And this is what I’ve built EsquireWell to accomplish.

If you’re like me, or many of my colleagues the last 20+ years, you are:

  • Eager to effectively uplevel well-being within your firm, but in an engaging way that works long-term - no more quick fixes that don’t stick!
  • Looking for another way to succeed while being a lawyer, wondering if that’s all there is?
  • Sick and tired of being sick and tired, plus ... haven’t we all heard enough jokes about crappy lawyers?
  • Or maybe...

You’re fascinated by what would motivate me to leave a C-Suite role supporting top talent in one of the 100 largest law firms in the US. “What is that Kendra up to now?” Well, here’s the answer:

Lawyer well-being writ large - and my conviction to make it a reality one firm and one lawyer at a time - is just too important to put off any longer.

It’s time to jump in.

Hi. I’m Kendra Brodin, ESQ., MSW and Founder and CEO of EsquireWell

A company devoted to the original dream.

Maybe you still remember it? The dream of success as lawyers without sacrificing the rest of our lives - our health, wealth, meaningful relationships and - do I dare mention the “H” word?? Happiness. There, I said it. And I mean it.

If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I believe happy, productive, and successful lawyers are not just possible. They’re essential.

For too many years, I’ve watched lawyers struggle to maintain the level of well-being they want balanced with the success level they’ve become used to.

Having earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a law degree from the University of Minnesota, I’m all about putting both “head” and “heart” to work. Now, after 20+ years in the legal trenches, I’m at the helm of EsquireWell, a key player in the transformation of the legal field in its quest for success and well-being.

I’m excited to support legal employers and individual attorneys through expert advice, science-backed strategies, and exceptional coaching and mentoring skills. Speaking to law firms internationally through high-energy, provocative, and sometimes hilarious virtual or in-person keynotes and trainings, I love seeing light bulbs go off as new strategies and tools land, but here at EsquireWell, we don’t stop at flashes of insight.

Through the innovative EsquireWell Aspire online learning platform, I’m fierce about following through to create lasting transformation.

With experience in law schools, law firms, non-profits, and recruiting search firms, I’m here to say with conviction: it is possible for lawyers to succeed without sacrificing their well-being and health. And I’m ready to put the depth and breadth of my experience to work for you.

As seen in:

Bottom line? It’s high time for law firms to double down and invest in lawyer well-being. It is high time lawyer health and success is being understood as a mission critical topic.

I could not be happier to provide advising and consulting services to future-minded firms who are ready to lead the charge. Maybe that’s you too? Maybe it’s time to talk and make an action plan this quarter. I hope so.

I’m ready to talk!

Note: This isn’t about ‘all work and no play.’ That’s the whole point. To “Esquire Well” means to do well in all parts of our lives as lawyers.

As for me, well, I’m blessed to be married to my college sweetheart, Ryan. I’m also a classically-trained pianist and church organist with blood type B+ for “Be Positive!”

Together, Ryan and I are proud parents of three teenage children, two of whom were adopted internationally, which makes for fantastic attempts (and epic fails) at world cooking. We also enjoy cheering for a variety of teams during the Olympics, and saying “Good night, I love you” in three different languages.
